About Us

In 1989 a small group of Christian women gathered to support/provide for one single young woman faced with an unexpected pregnancy. And then another woman in a crisis pregnancy. And then another. Through their work, our mission emerged: To Encourage, Equip and Inspire Individuals in Their Choice for Life. They called their work “Crossroads Ministries” and later become known as New Life Pregnancy Resource Center (NLPRC).

Through the decades, the methods have evolved but the mission remains unchanged. Every day since its inception, every person and every family who enters NLPRC is recognized as a Child of God, led to the Center for a unique purpose. Even amid their brokenness, each is met with love and respect to assess and determine how the Center can provide guidance, resources, and unconditional support.

In over 400 client visits in 2022 (which includes Otsego and surrounding counties), NLPRC furnished families with necessities that not only met their functional needs but empowered them to grow beyond that need. The ministry also offers specialized programs developed to meet the unique needs of each person, such as pregnancy testing, prenatal advice, parent training/mentoring, clothing, diapers, food, and connections to other organizations for additional community resources. NLPRC is fully funded through the generosity of donors and volunteers, as well as private grantors; no federal or state funding subsidizes the services provided.

In 2023, over 1,105 parenting and life skills education courses were completed with our online and in-person course offerings. We gave out over 11,000 diapers, 198 packages of wipes, nearly 225 formula/baby food item, in addition to numerous bags of baby clothing, maternity clothing, and the loaning or purchase baby furniture/accessory items! Our layette program was able to bless families with Welcome Baby bags full of new items for newborns.
